Residential Site Located on Obelisco Place Z_
Carlsbad, California.
Gentlement
In accordance with you request, we have performed,compaction
tests on the compacted fills placed on the subject site-loc.-
ated on Lot 669, La Costa Meadows Unit No.-.4, Ubelisao-.Place,
-The tests were performed on June'2 3
and July 13,- 1977, during the grading operations. The results
of the te.sts and our findings are' presented in ,this report.
Site grading consisted of both cut and fill -operations required
to develop the site to accomodate.the proposed residential
structure and garage. The configuration of the graded site
is.shown on the attached Plate No. 1'.
Prior to'the placement of any fill, the areas to receive'
fill were'cleared of natural vegetation. Loose surficial l
soils were scarified a minimum depth of six inches,. moist-
ened and recompactedif 'Natural ground soils,located in the-
toe area of the proposed fill were excavated' in.order to pi~o-
vide a key.on the order of 2 feet in maximum, dep.t1h.

The f ill materialsi -consisting of brown slightly clayey
silty sands native.to the site and brown silty fine to coarse
sands imported from off site sources, were moistened, placed
in six to eight inch lifts and 'compacted to a minimum of
.90% of the maximum dry density as evidenced by',the field
in-place density tes'ts perf ormed at the locations indicated

Field den.sity,tests were performed according to A.S.T.M. Te.st,
