They also acknowledge that the ceiling installation is incorrect, that the metal roof system is rusting due to lack of insulation, and that steel ceiling panel supports were used instead of aluminum. Please expedite your necessary actions to make the contractor redo this structure properly and promptly, or pull their license and activate their performance bond so that I can have it properly done by others. I am in the process of selling this house, and this structure must be made right for the new buyers promptly and without fail. Time is of the essense so your prompt attention will be appreciated. Padilla Contractors State License Board 5280 Carroll Canyon Road, Suite 250 San Diego, Ca. 92121 Mr. Tony Mato Carlsbad City Development Department 2075 Las Palmas Carlsbad, Ca. 92009 Re: Patio Room at 2646 La Costa Avenue, Carlsbad Gentlemen: As you both know, Imperial Patio installed a structurally inferior and illegal patio room on our house at 2646 La Costa Avenue in Carlsbad in an attempt to defraud us and are doing nothing to resolve the issue. Now that the building department has discovered the inferior and illegal material used in the construction, I ask you jointly and severally to take all necessary action against them to insure that they comply with all the building and contractor codes, and that they be forced to replace this structure with the correct engineered materials to meet all codes. The facts as presently known by us and the inspector is that they did not use the 6" .042 gauge roof panels called for, and did not use the 3" or 4" sidewalls that are necessary to carry the heavier roof panels. Additionally, we have finally determined beyond any doubt that during construction a T.V. cable was damaged, probably by a nail, making the T.V. reception in the adjoining bedroom unacceptable. This must also be corrected during reconstt'"uction.
