The City will route the plans to EsGil Corporation and the Carlsbad Planning, Engineering

Bring one corrected set of plans and calculations/reports to EsGil Corporation, 9320
Chesapeake Drive, Suite 208, San Diego, CA 92123, (858) 560-1468. Deliver all
remaining sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of Carlsbad Building
Department for routing to their Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments.
NOTE: Plans that are submitted directly to EsGil Corporation only will not be reviewed by

Deliver all remaining sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of
Carlsbad Building Department for routing to their Planning, Engineering and Fire
Departments.
NOTE: Plans that are submitted directly to EsGil Corporation only will not be
reviewed by the City Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments until review by
EsGil Corporation is complete.
Provide a statement on the Title Sheet of the plans stating that this project shall
comply with the 2001 editions of the California Building/Plumbing/Mechanical
Codes and the 2004 edition of the California Electrical Code, which adopt the
1997 UBC, 2000 UMC, 2000 UPC and the 2002 NEC.
2. On the first sheet of the plans indicate:
. The floor area of the remodeled area to be 4630 sf.
Please provide plans and calculations signed by the California State licensed
engineer or architect for the structural support of the rooftop air handler units.
Include all calculations and finding on the plans. Please include the California
license number, seal, date of license expiration and date plans are signed.

Roof Mounted Equipment to the plans.

section of the PERF-1 energy document and sign the appropriate portion.

of the MECH-1-C documents.

PURPOSE:, PROVIDE INSTALLATION STANDARDS FOR ALL ROOF MOUNTED EQUIPMENT AND
PENETRATIONS ON COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL BUILDINGS.
INTENT: A. Maintain roof integrity.
Prevent hazeroous condition to iremen who must fight fire on the roof.
Provide an installation that is aesthetically sensitive to the building end 'the
adjoining properties:
POLICY: 1. All equipment shall be concealed from view and the design* shall meet the
'approval of the Planning Department.
All equipment shall be specificliy designed and approved for exterior use and
shall be approved by the City of Carlsbad Building Department.
All roof mounted equipment shall be on a platform which shall be an integral
part of the roof--flashed and waterproofed. When a screen is 2ppoved, it shaU
have as few roof connections as possible and be structurally adequate,
All electrical, plumbing, mechanical duct work and related piping shall be inside
the building and not on the roof. All connections related to equipment shall be
made in the same roof opening on the platform or have the prior approval from
the building official.
', S. Sewer vents shall be bouçht to one main vent below the roof and have one
penetration where restrooms o other plumbing fixtures are back to back or in
the general proximity.
Air exhaust fans and other equipment shall be within the building and use the
same roof opening where restrooms and other equipment are back to back or ir
general proximity.
Existing buildings and equipment, remodel or replacement, shall meet the abov
regulations or shall have the prior' approval from the building official.
