EXISTING SEWER LATERAL AT 2747 CARLSBAD BOULEVARD
It is my recommendation that the 6" sewer lateral not be abandoned, and be used
at a future time by the replacement buildings on the lot. Therefore, I recommend
that the owner get the contractor to cap sewer just inside their property line
before the completion of the demolition of this building. City clean out and
box must remain. The Building Department or the Utilities and Maintenance
Department will inspect the plug.

DEMOLITION PERMIT FOR HISTORIC RESOURCE
SHIPLEY-WARD HOUSE - 2747 CARLSBAD BOULEVARD
At their meeting on September 12, 1988, the Historic
Preservation Commission reviewed a request from St. Michael's
Church for review of a demolition permit for the Shipley-Ward
House at 2747 Carlsbad Boulevard. The house has been
destroyed beyond repair by a lessee without a building
permit. The site is now a safety liability to the property
owner. Because of this situation, the Commission has no
choice but to concur with the issuance of a demolition
permit.
The Commission regrets the unfortunate loss of a historic
resource.
