for tenant improvements at 2796 Carlsbad Blvd.
We have been unable to proceed with our improvements due
to the depressed real estate market. We have now applied
for a small business loan but as of this date we have not
received our funds.
Can you please advise us on how to obtain an extension?

This is in response to your letter dated August 18, 1990 to Tony Mata
regarding the above referenced permit.
It is not necessary to obtain an extension to the permit mentioned.
According to our Building Code, 18.04.030 Section 303(d), you only need to
have work started and inspected prior to one year from the date of permit
purchase date. Enclosed is a copy of this code for your reference.

This refers to your letter of April 27, 1990.
Enclosed is a copy of the permit issued to California Builders. This
permit was to remodel an existing real estate office.
Approval was obtained from our Redevelopment section, and the permit
was issued to a licensed contractor in good faith. Apparently a portion
of the work was to clear up an old violation.
I have researched the procedure and it appears to be proper and legal.
Your letter sounds as though you may have some legal problem with
your tenant.
If we can be of further assistance, please contact Tony Mata, Principal
Building Inspector.
