As a result of a recent inspection of the Jazzercise facility by
representatives of the building and fire departments, the following
items are required in order to comply with applicable state and local
codes.
1. The maximum occupant load of the exercise floor area is 299 persons.
A sign so stating shall be posted near the main exit to the room.
2. The rear exit from the exercise floor shall have panic hardware
as the only locking or latching device. All other devices shall
be removed.
3. The exit sign over the side door from the exercise floo:,J shall be
removed. This side exit is not required and does not meet the
requirements for an exit.
4. Remove the exit sign in the hallway adjacent to the door referred
to in Item #3.
5. Provide an exit door at the front of the office area, leading
directly to the exterior of the building. Locking devices shall
conform with Section 3303 of the Uniform Building Code.
6. The required exiting from the front of the building, for the
purposes of exiting from the exercise floor, is one door with a
clear exit width of 3'0". This door shall swing in the direction
of egress. The locking and latching device on the door may be
either panic hardware or have locking in accordance with Section
3303, provided a sign is posted above the door stating, "This
Door Must Remain Unlocked Whenever the Public Is Present".
The sign shall be metallic, with at least one inch high letters
on a contrasting background. The existing doors may be retained

provided at least one of them complies with these requirements.
7. The nursery is required to have a second exit, leading directly
to the exterior. Both exits shall be openable without the use
of a key or special knowledge, even when locked.
