Gent I em en :
This is to present recommendations for the special design of foundations and floor slabs
on the subject lot in La Costa Meadows Unit No. 3.
Due to the difficulty encountered in obtaining satisfactory moisture penetration into the
very firm subsoils encountered on this lot, two alternate designs are presented as fGiIOWS:
1 .
2.
Use the specially designed post-tensioned slab and fomdation system being
used on expansive soil conditions in certain other areas of La Costa,
Use the special design as recommended for this lot in our previous report
on La Costa Meadows Unit No. 3, Project No. 71-7-17D, dated October
19, 1972 with one exception.
#3 bars at 18 inches center to center in both directions in lieu of. the
6 x 6-10/10 welded wire reinforcement.
The floor slab should be reinforcedwith
Additional moisture will not have to be added to the subsoils if either of the above
recanmended designs are used.
