I am submitting plans to obtain a permit for an addjtion that was built about 15
years ago by another owner I was able to contact the original owner, but he did not have
any original plans and he did not remember anything about the construction Ho had hired
a contractor to do the job, the contractor has since moved out of state, and we have not yet
been able to contact him I hired another contractor, who had built a similar (permitted)
addition to the other unit m our duplex, to analyze the construction and draw these new
plans, which we are submitting for checking
When I bought the house in 1987 I was informed that the seller (who was not the
original owner) was uncertain of the status of a permit My realtor said that this was not
any concern of mine I have since discovered that no permit was applied for when the work
was done, and that a permit is required to comply with Carlsbad building regulations I
am applying for a permit because the house is now in escrow, with the sale contingent on
this permit discrepancy being resolved
Sincerely,
Stacy P Wile
