These heat pump systems provide economy of operation through energy conservation. They recover heat for indoor comfort from outdoor air during fhe heating season and, by automatically reversing the refrigerant system, remove indoor heat and excess humidity during the cooling season. All models have ARI certified ralings and are UL and CSA listed. FEATURES/BENEFITS Compressor — Designed specifically for heat pump duty, with high energy efficiency during heating and cooling operation. Each compressor is hermetically sealed against contamination to assure long life and dependable performance, internally sprung and externally mounted on rubber isolators for quiet operation. Continuous compressor operation is approved down to — 30 F in the healing mode, and down to 55 F in the cooling mode. (See heating and cooling performance tables.) All models include a discharge-tube muffler to prevent sound transmission of the compressor pulsations to the indoor or outdoor coils. Biiilt-In-Reliability Components — Includes a suction-tube accumulator that keeps liquid refrigerant from reaching the compressor; a low- pressure switch that stops the compressor if refrigerant charge is lost; a crankcase heater to keep the compressor oil warm and free of refrigerant for maximum lubricity; an internal compressor relief valve for high-pressure protection; and Form 38YHD-2PD m ;trical data MIN." They may be used with Carrier's 58 Series gas- or oil-fired furnaces, or they may be installed in existing forced-air systems. Carrier 28VQ (for upflow/ downflow applications) and 28HQ (for horizontal applications) provide maximum refrigerant-to-air heat transfer in either cooling or heat pump duty. HQ capacifies — 24,000; 30,000; .36,000; 42,000; 48,000; and 60,000 nominal Btuh; VQ capacities — 36,000; 42,000; 48,000; and 60,000 Btuh — provide additional flexibility. Carrier 28HQ/VQ coil may be matched with either Carrier's outdoor condensing units for straight cooling duty, or with split system heat pumps for all-season cooling and heating. (See outdoor condensing unit or heat pump literature for Carrier-approved systems, correct AccuRater piston size and ARI-certified ratings.) Whatever the arrangement, modular 28HQ/VQ coils form their own fully insulated plenum to effectively .segregate warm air from cool, helping to eliminate dripping condensation on enclosed surface. 1989 Form 28HQ-1PD 165 INSTALLED LIGHTING SUMMARY CP-5 Project Title: LA COSTA PRODUCTS ADDITION For Enforcement Agency Use Only Doc. CODE REFERENCE SUBJECT PUBLISHED 384 SWITCHBOARDS JUNE 90 The testing and listing standards for switchboards recjuire that the manufacturer identify any equipment intended to be installed in the field. Equipment intended for field installation must be identified by part or catalog number on a label in the switchboard. The manufacturer must also provide any instructions necessary for the proper installation of such equipment. These requirements specifically include terminal connectors. Most switchboards are designed to be connected to other sections or equipment with splice and through bus. Some switchboards also provide a set of factory installed terminals for tapping a single circuit ahead of the service main. Very few switchboards are designed for the field installation of terminals on busses in order to make cable connections. Those designed for this application will include the required markings and installation instructions. The following procedures are established to insure that switchboards are installed in conformance with the testing and listing standards for such equipment. 1. Plan reviewers will reject plans showing field connections of cable to busses unless there is documentation that the equipment is suitable for the field installation of terminals. 2. All new switchboards will be inspected to detennine compliance with the listing and manufacturers instructions provided with the equipment. 3. All installations of new cables in existing switchboards will be inspected to determine compliance with the listing and manufacturers instructions provided with the ecjuipment. In some cases, this will require changes to existing cable connections. 4. Switchboards not designed and marked for the field installation of terminals cannot be modified in the field.
