HomeMy WebLinkAboutCD 2018-0027; PASEO DEL NORTE OFFICE BUILDING; Admin Decision LetterMarch 21, 2019 6121 Paseo Del Norte, LLC Suite 210 6125 Paseo Del Norte Carlsbad, CA 92011 SUBJECT: CD 2018-0027 {DEV04053}-PASEO DEL NORTE OFFICE BUILDING Ccicyof ·carlsbad The city planner has completed a review of your application for Consistency Determination, CD 2018-0027 -PASEO DEL NORTE OFFICE BUILDING (APN: 211-040-24-00) which is a modification to Site Development Plan (SDP) 04-10, that approved construction of an office building on a one-acre lot. After careful consideration of the request, the City Planner has determined that the request meets all of the findings below and APPROVES this request. The proposed modifications include: • Enclose an exposed trellis with new rafters, eaves and roof tiles; and • Construct a 270-square-foot enclosed storage addition on the northeast portion of the building. In order for a Discretionary Permit Consistency Determination to be approved, all of the following findings must be made: 1) No project condition, feature, facility or amenity is changed or deleted that had been considered essential to the project's design, quality, safety or function. 2) The request represents an upgrode in overall design features and or materials and improves upon the project's compatibility with the surrounding neighborhood In that the architectural features are compatible with the existing exterior's clay tile roof. 3} The proposed revision does not change the density or boundary of the subject property. 4) The proposed revision does not involve the addition of a new land use not shown on the original permit in that there are no proposed land use changes. 5) The proposed revision does not rearrange the major land uses within the development. 6) The proposed revision does not create changes of greater than ten percent provided that compliance will be maintained with the applicable development standards of the Carlsbad Municipal Code in that the modifications are not greater than ten percent of the original approval, and comply with all applicable development standards. 7) The proposed change will not result in any significant environmental impact, and/or require additional mitigation in that the architectural modifications do not create a significant environmental impact, and will improve the site's appearance. BJ The proposed change would not result in any health, safety or we/fore impacts in that the architectural modifications will meet all structural and building code requirements. Therefore, the City Planner has determined that the application qualifies for a consistency determination with the approved permit and approves the changes to the project based on Planning Division Administrative Policy No. 35.
