WBREAS, the City Council on the 5th day of May, 1953, passed a
Resolution calling for the submission of bids for the installa-tion and
maintenance of lighting facilities in the area referred to as the
Terramar Lighting District, said bids to have been submitted prior to
ten otcZock a.m. on June 3, 1953; and
WEREAS, at the above referenced hour only one bid had been received
in the amount of $3,185.00 from the Sari Diego Gas B Electric Company; and
WXREAS, said bid as submitted conforms to the estimated cost
submitted by the Public Works Director of the City of Carlsbad; and
‘dHER;3kS, said bid was accompanied by a certified check in the amount,
4 of $319.50, which mount represents ten per cent (lo$) of the amount of
the bid;
NCW TEZRT3F@RE, BE IT BESOLVXD, that the City of Carlsbad enter
into a contract for the performance of the installation and maintenznce
of facilfties as described in that particular report of the Public Works
Director of the City of Carlsbad that refers to the Terramar Lighting
District, said report being on Pile with the City Clerk of the City of
Cmlsbad.
That the District in the City of Carlsbad, California, to be bene-
fited by sald improvement is to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses
thereof, and said District is to be knotvn as the Terramar Lighting
District as described and shown on the map on file in the office of
the City Clerk ar,d designated as Terramar Lighting District, excepting
therefrom all pu.blic streets, roads, alleys, avenues and highways.
The City Council hereby orders that the costs to be assessed upon
the Terramar Lighting Distrl.ct described above shall be in accordance
with the proceaure prescribed by Chapter 5, Part 2, Division 14, of
the Streets aEd Hfghways Code of the State of California, said part
being more commonly referred to as "The Street Lighting Act of 1931."
PASSED, ilFPSGVED AND ADOPED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbed, California, this 16th day of Ju.ne, 1953, by the following
vote, to-wit :
AYES: Councilman Sutton, Ede, Castorma, Mayor McClellan.
