WWEEAS, on February 1, 1955, the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad voted uulaniraously to "authorize the engineer to proceed with
plans to construct Elm Avenue to e. four-lane street in conpliance in a11
details with the Division of Highways standards for use of gas tax funds";

?dKSN3AS, it is the intention of' the City Council to have all trees
rerooved to improve Elm Avenue to 64 feet from curb to curb; and
IJ€iERZAS, it is the City Council's wish to %lave the improvement plans
completed in two sections; one to cover the section from the Freeway to
the alley west of the Wadison Street intersection, and the second to cover
the area. from %he alley west of Hadisozcl Street to Carlsbad Boulevard, ex-
cepting that portion rvhich is now 60 feet from curb to cux;b, between the
alley west of Piadison Street and the Atchison, Topeka

ject to the State's approvzl, ad. that the economic method of completing
this data is by 7rogressive steps in accordance with State practice, and

the Division of Mghways' District Xngineer on the variow phases of the
project ;
