RESOLUTION NO. 375
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CARLSBAD APPROVING THl3
TENTATIVE MAP OF CAR D GARDEN$.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad on the
8th day of April, 1958, recommended to the City Council by their Resolution
No. 61 that the tentative map of CARLSBAD GARDENS be approved subject
to the conditions contained in Resolution No. 61 of the Planning Commission;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad on the 6th day of
M ay, 1958, duly considered the recommendation of the Planning Commission
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad as follows:
That the City Council does hereby approve the tentative map of
CA RLSBAD GARDENS, subject to the following recommendations and condi-
tions being performed by the Subdivider:
1. All buildings constructed in this subdivision are connected to the
Carlsbad Public Sewer System.
Z. All domestic water supplied to this subdivision comes from the
Carlsbad Mutual Water Company.
3. That sewer and water lines are not laid in the same trench in any
part of this subdivision.
4. Proper drainage is maintained throughout the subdivision so as
to prevent ponding and/or storage of surface water.
5. Subject subdivision is within the Carlsbad Mutual Water Company
service area, is properly water stocked, and may be served upon installation
of mains and service meters to each lot according to the Mutual Water Com-
pany's requirements.
6. Fire Hydrants shall be located as follows:
(a) Corner of ''A'' Street & Monroe on Lot #11.
(b) Corner of "A" and "€3" Streets on Lot #35.
(c) Corner of "B" and "E" Streets on Lot #49; and
(d) On "C" Street on the lot line of Lots #55 and #56.

All fire hydrants shall be of the standard 4" type.
7. A typical, cross-section of the proposed improvement for the exist-
ing right-of-way of Monroe Street shall be added. The improvements to be
required shall be as decided upon after the decision of the proposed change
of zone is reached, to conform to the R-3 zone of Ordinance No. 9050.
8. Details for the proposed alley between Monroe Street and "C" Street
shall be required, as indicated in item (7) above, the general requirements
here also shall be set forth in detail with the zone change.
9. Definite street names shall be provided, as the streets are desig-
nated by letters only on the map.
10. The parcel of land between Lots 26 and 27 shown on said map as
"Not part of this subdivision" has an existing building, and the lot lines estab.
lishing this parcel shall allow for the minimum side yard requirements.

12. The subdivider shall have a one foot buffer strip established for
the terminus of all streets and alleys abutting private properties.
13. All subdivision streets and alleys shall be improved to the standarc
of the City of Carlsbad. All streets shall have concrete curb and gutter and
asphaltic concrete paving of two or more inches thickness. Alleys shall be
paved with a three inch asphaltic concrete paving. In both cases, paving shall
be laid upon sub-base as approved by the Engineering Department of the City
of Car 1 sbad .
14. Considering the general development of the area with the 7500

15. The roadway widths of 32 feet and 34 feet are acceptable to the

The City Clerk is hereby directed to place a copy of this resolution in
the usual course of mail, addressing the same to Carlsbad Gardens, Inc.
244 South Palm Drive, Beverly Hills, California.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
City Council held on the 6th day of May, 1958, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Mayor Baird, Councilmen Ledgerwood, Helton, Lough, and
Councilw Oman Sonneman.
