RESOLUTION NQ. 695
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL, OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD A"0UNCING
FINDINGS AND DECISION REGARDING
REDUCTION IN LOT AREa PER DWELLING
UNIT IN R-3 ZONE.
WHEREAS, on the 27th day of September, 1960, the Carlsbad City
Planning Commission adopted Resolution E&. 179, which is herewith referred
to and made a part hereof; and
WHEREAS, on the 18th day of October, 1960, at a duly advertised public
hearing the City Council of the City of Carlsbad considered the Planning
Commission's Resolution No. 179; and
WHERmS, at said hearing the City Council. heard all persons interested
in or opposed to the recommendations of the Planning Commission as set forth
in Resolution No. 179; ._
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad DOES
HEREBY DECLARE FINDINGS AND RESOLVE that the findings of the
Planning Commission contained in Resolution No. 179 constitute the findings
of the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND DECLARED that the City Council
hereby certifies that the approval of the amendment to Ordinance No. 9060,
as approved by Resolution No. 179 of the Planning Commission is necessary
to carry out the general purpose of Ordinance No. 9060,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby declare
its intention to adopt an ordinance to effectuate the change in Ordinance No.
9060, as set forth in Resolution No. 179 of the Planning Commission.
BE IT FURTHER DECLARED AND ORDE%ED that the City Attorney
is hereby instructed to prepare an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 9060
as follows:

'Section 706. The minimum lot area per dwelling unit in the R-3 Zone shall be not less than eight hundred and fifty
square feet provided that for each room used for sleeping purposes and not contained in a dwelling unit as defined in this ordinance, not less than four hundred fifty square feet of lot area shall be required."
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Carlsbad at a regular meeting held on the 18th day of October, 1960, by the
following vote, to wit:
