RESOLUTION NO, 707
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COZTlwCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD APPROVING
TENTATIVE UP OF SHELTER COVE SUBDIVISION,
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad on the 28th
day of November, L960, recommended to the City Council that the tentative
map of SHELTER COVE SUBDIVISXON be approved, subject to the conditions
hereinafter enumerated ;In this resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad on the 6th day of
December, 1960, considered the recommendations of the Planning Commission.
\ NOW, TXEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Carlsbad, that the City Council does hereby approve said tentative map of
SHELTER COVE, subject to the following requirements and conditions being
performed by the Subdivider:
1, All domestic water supplied to this subdivision comes from the
Carlsbad City Water Department.
2. All. buildings constructed in this subdivision are connected to the
Carlsbad Public Sewer System,
3. Sewer and water lines are not to be laid in the same trench in any
\ part of this subdivision.
4. Proper drainage is to be maintained throughout the subdivision so as
to prevent ponding and/or storage of surface water.
5. Five (5) standard 6-inch hydrants shall be installed at (1) the corner
of Park and Adams (2) the lot line of lots 50 and 51, and (3) the lot line of
lot 69 and Yacht Club Site, (4) the lot line of lots 24 and 23, and (5) the corner
of lot 38 and 2OX access drive and Macey Rd.
6. The map title shall be sub-titled Resubdivisian No. 1, Lots 10 and
11, Block D, Bellavista..
7, Natural water courses and areas subject to inundation shall be shown
8. Approximate street grades shall be shown,
9, Typical street sections shall be shown.
10, Legal description of the exterior boundaries shall be shown.

It is' recommended that a 6" T,A. C. water main be laid in Macey RQad, a 6"
T.A. C, water main be laid in Park Drive from the existing 14" water main
lying easterly of the easterly boundary of the subdivision and the centerline of
the proposed onsite Park Drive to the southeasterly boundary of the subdivisior
and a 4" T,A.C, water main be laid in the 20X access road from Park Drive
to the middle of lot 39.
27. Sewage disposal will require a pumping station or pumping stations
and a force main system to the existing gravity sewer main in Tamarack Ave,
between Adams St, and Highland Drive, ABL onsite gravity sewer mains shall
be 8'' V. C. P. and be above high tide elevation.
28, All onsite storm drainage may be controlled by surface flow upon
the improved streets, An underground conduit and necessary appurtenant
structures be provided for in drainage easements as recommended and be of

sufficient size to handle storm water flows computed from a 25 year storm
basis,

29. All underground utilities to be laid in the subdivision streets shall
be installed before the permanent paving is laid,
30. Due to the irregular exterior boundaries of subject subdivision
overhead utilities shall be placed in the street right-of -ways.
31. The following street improvement sections shall be made:
(a) Park Drive: 48 ft, roadway, 4 1/2 fa, parkway and 4 ft. sidewal
set one half foot from property line.
(b) Adams Street: 40 ft. roadway and a 4 ft. sidewalk set one half
foot from property line and contiguous to curb.
(c) Macey Road 44 ft, roadway and a 4 ft. sidewalk set one half
foot from property line and contiguous to curb.
(d) Access drive (to be named): 24 feet of roadway with a 4 1/2
foot sidewalk set one half foot from property line and contiguous to
southerly curb.
32. Every lot in said subdivision shall have a front yard of not less
than 20 feet.
33, The subdivider will furnish the U. S, Post Office, Carlsbad,
California, with a copy of the final subdivision map.
34. All improvements required of the subdivider to be installed and
dedicated to the City of Carlsbad shaIl be described in improvement plans
approved by the City Engineer, and no construction shall commence until such
plans are approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby directed
to place a copy of this resolution in the usual course of mail, addressed to the
Subdivider at his address as shown on the tentative map.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Comcil of the City oJ
Carlsbad at a regular meeting held on the 6th day of December, 1960, by the
