RESOLUTION NO. 828
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, APPROVING THE REWSED TENTATIVE MAP OF HOLIDAY MANOR SUBDIVISION, SUBJECT TO PLANNING
COMMISSION APPROVAL.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad on the 29th
day of May, 1962, recommended to the City Council that the tentative map of
Holiday Manor Subdivision be approved; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad on the 7th day of
June, 1962, considered the recommendation of the Planning Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Carlsbad, that the City Council does hereby approve said revised tentative
map of HOLIDAY MANOR SUBDIVISION, comprised of 43 lots, subject to the
following requirements and conditions being performed by the Subdivider:
1. All domestic water supplied to this subdivision shall come from the
Carlsbad City Water Department.
2. All buildings constructed in this subdivision shall be connected to the
Carlsbad Public Sewer System.
3. The sewer and water lines shall not be laid in the same trench in any
part of this subdivision.
4. One (1) standard six inch (6") fire hydrant shall be located at the
northwest corner of Valley Street and Tamarack Avenue; one (1) standard six
inch (6") fire hydrant shall be located on the north side of Tamarack at the inter-
section of Tamarack and "Aft Street; one (1) standard six inch (6") fire hydrant
shall be located at the southerly end of "A" Street by lot No. 10; one (1) four
inch (4") wharf hydrant shall be located at the easterly terminus of "B" Street.
5. Eight inch (8") diameter water main shall be installed in Tamarack
Avenue and Valley Street.

7. One (1) foot barrier strips shown as Lots (a), (b), (c), (d), (e), (f), (g)
and (h) are acceptable and are to be dedicated to the City of Carlsbad, but not
for public use.
8. Because of the irregular shape of the subdivision and indeterminate
future division of adjacent property, location of utility poles along rear lot lines
is considered impractical; therefore, they shall be placed in the street.
9. A grading plan shall be submitted as required by ordinance.
10. Tamarack Avenue has been submitted as a secondary street, 48 feet
curb to curb 0.n a 68 feet right-of-way.
11. Because the extension, widening, and improvement of Tamarack
Avenue is an objective of the City's master street planning, which will greatly
benefit the public upon completion, the Subdivider s engineer shall prepare a
legal description of the additional right-of-way required for full street dedicatior
and prepare improvement plans accordingly. The City will then obtain dedicatio
of the right-of -way, compensate the Subdivider's contractor for the School
District% share of the necessary street improvements on Tamarack, and enter
into a reimbursement agreement with the Carlsbad Elementary School District
for the work.
It is recommended that the City contribute the cost of additional street
improvements on Tamarack as needed for secondary or major street construc-
tion. This will include additional depth of pavement as required and additional
width over and above the 40 feet curb to curb for a local collector street.
12. Street paving shall consist of two-inch (2") of asphaltic concrete
with stone chip seal coat laid on six-inch (6") of decomposed granite base, or

21. The subdivider shall furnish the U. S. Post Office, Carlsbad, Califor
nia with a copy of the final subdivision map.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby directed to
place a copy of this resolution in the usual course of mail, addressed to the
subdivider at his address as shown an the tentative map.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 7th day of June,
1962, by the following vote, to wit:
