RESOLUTION NO. 921
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA,
GOING ON RECORD AS FAVORING THE IN- STITUTION OF EXTENDED TELEPHONE
SERVICE FROM THE CITY OF CARLSBAD
TO THE CITIEiS OF VISTA, SAN MARCOS
AND ESCONDIDO,
WHEREAS, residents of the City of Carlsbad are required to pay long
distance charges to telephone areas within the City of Vista, San Marcos,
and Escondido; and
WHEREAS, the requirement of payment of said long distance charges
for such calls is unfair to the citizens of Carlsbad in that they are not accorded
equal treatment with other areas where calls of similar distance would be made
without a long distance charge; and
WHEREAS, the institution of extended telephone service for the City of
Carlsbad so as to allow calls to the cities of Vista, San Marcos, and Escondido
would facilitate community trade and be in the best interests of the public;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Carlsbad, California, that they go on record as favoring the institution of
extended telephone service from the City of Carlsbad, California, at least to
the cities of Vista, San Marcos, and Escondido, California, so that calls to
said cities from the City of Carlsbad may be made without a toll charge.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, at a regular meeting held on the 18th day of June, 1963,
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen McPherson, Guevara, Neiswender and Hughes.
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman Bierce I
