RESOLUTION NO, 998
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE
INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
TO VACATE A PORTION OF WALNUT
AVENUE IN THE CITY OF CARLSBAD BETWEEN CERTAIN DESIGNATED POINTS; AND ESTABLISHING A TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING,
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. The procedure for the vacation of a portion of Walnut Avenue
3etween certain designated points in the City of Carlsbad, shall be, and the
same is hereby ordered to be in accordance with the proceedings set forth in
the State Vacation Act of 1941, contained in Sections 8300 to 8374 of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California.
Section 2. It is hereby resolved and declared to be the intention of the
Zity Council to vacate a portion of Walnut Avenue, more particularly described
as follows:
That portion of Walnut Avenue adjacent to Tract 202 of Thum Lands according to Map thereof No. 1681, filed in the office of the County
Recorder of San Diego County, described as follows:
Beginning at the most Southerly corner of said Tract 202; thence
North 55O 27' East on the Southeasterly line of Tract 202, a
distance of 346.59 feet to the most Easterly corner of said Tract 202, said point being also a point on a curve, concave Northwesterly and having a radius of 10 feet, a radial line to said point bears
South 55" 27* West; thence Southerly along said curve through a
central angle of 90Q, an arc distance of 15. 71 feet to a line that
is parallel with and 10 feet Southeasterly, measured at right angles,
from the aforementioned Southeasterly line of Tract 202; thence
along said parallel line, South 55O 27* West, 326. 59 feet to the
beginning of a tangent curve, concave Northeasterly and having a radius of 10 feet; thence Northerly along said curve, through a central angle of 90°, an arc distance of 15. 71 feet to the point of

the details of such proposed vacation being more specifically set forth in a map
and plan in the office of the City Clerk.
Section 3. The City Council of the City of Carlsbad hereby establishes
as the date for hearing all persons interested in, or objecting to, the proposed zl vacation, at 7: 30 o'clock P. M. on AprilPf, 1964, at its regular meeting place
in the City Hall in the City of Carlsbad, 2960 Pi0 Pic0 Drive, Carlsbad, Califoru
Section 4. The City Engineer is hereby ordered to post notices of street

vacation, as herein proposed, conspicuously along the line of the street or parts
thereof, proposed to be vacated, with said posting to be accomplished at least
ten (IO) days before the 7th day of April, 1964.

posted upon the portions of street proposed to be vacated. The notices as posted
shall state the passage of this Resolution of Intention and shall state the time and
place of hearing of persons interested in, or objecting to the proposed vacation.

Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to cause this
resolution to be published once in the Carlsbad Journal, a weekly newspaper of
general circulation in the City of Carlsbad.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
2f Carlsbad at a regular meeting held on the 17th day of March, 1964, by the
following vote, to wit:
