RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE: CITY OF CARLSBAD, AGREEING TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COORDINATION
OF COMPREHENSIVE TRANSPORTATION PLANNING PROCESSES IN THE METRO- POLITAN AREAS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO, AND AUTHORIZING WYOR TO EXECUTE THE JOINT POVIERS AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD.
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad recognizes the vital importance of good
transportation for this region; and further recognizes that the transportation
of persons and goods takes place without consideration for the boundaries of
individual governmental jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, transportation is a community problem and it is therefore
necessary that comprehensive transportation planning processes be properly
coordinated among the various jurisdictions which control them; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad as follows:
That the City of Carlsbad hereby agrees to participate in the coordination
of comprehensive transportation planning processes in the metropolitan areas
of the County of San Diego through the following organizations:
(I) The transportation Policy Coordinating Committee; and
(2) The transportation Technical Coordinating Committee.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Carlsbad hereby agrees to
assign representatives to serve as official meinbers of the transportation
Policy Coordinating Committee and the transportation Technical Coordination
Committee to act for the City of Carlsbad in any and all matters which may
zome before those committees, subject to any necessary approval of said acts
3y the City Council of the City of Carlsbad.
The Mayor is hereby instructed and authorized to sign for the City of
Zarlsbad a Joint Powers Agreement with various other agencies of the County

San Diego, establishing and implementing these organizations and prodedures.'
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
wlsbad, California, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Dunne, Meiswender, Atkinson, Hughes and Jardine
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
