HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-04-19; City Council; Resolution 1262RESOLUTION NO. 1262 12 13 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 28TH DAY OF JUNE, 1966, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL LAM CITIES. I term of tine vacant Council seat; 1 I 1 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS I WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to General l51 FOLLOWS: i i I I SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the laws of l8 l9 20 21 22 23 the State of California relating to General Law Cities within said State, there shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered, held in the City of Carlsbad, County of San Diego, State of California, on Tuesday, the 28th day of June, 1966, a special municipal election/ of the qualified electors of said City for the purpose of electing I 1 i one (1) member of the City Council of said City to fill the unexpire + term of the vacant Council seat. 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 I SECTION 2. That the ballots to be used at said election shal I I be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as may be required by law to be used thereat. j SECTION 3. That the City Clerk of said City is hereby author izecl, instructed and directed to procure and furnish any and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies, equip- I ment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to properly f and lawfully conduct said election. SECTION 4. That for the purpose of holding said special I 0 0 iunicipal election, there shall be and are hereby established five 15) voting precincts consisting of consolidations of the regular 2lection precincts in the City of Carlsbad established for the hold- ing of state and county elections, as said regular election precinct ?xist on the date of adoption of this resolution. That the polling places for the respective precincts shall be the places hereinafter designated; and that the persons hereinafter named, being competent and qualified electors and residents of said City and of their re- spective voting precincts, are hereby appointed officers of electior for their respective voting precincts and they shall hold said election and make return thereof in the manner provided by law. Acuna Retirement Center Hall, 2855 Carlsbad Bouleva$d. 16 17 18 19 20 21 Judge: Clerk: Clerk: named as election officers is hereby fixed at the sum of Eighteen I Dollars for each Inspector and Fifteen Dollars for each Judge and Clerk for said election. The rental for each of such polling places where a charge is made, shall be the sum of Ten Dollars for said election. That notice of the time and place of holding said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby author- ized, instructed and directed to give such further or additional 22 .2 3 24 25 26 27 28 29 SECTION 6. That the polls for said election shall be open at seven o’clock A.M. of the day of said election and shall remain open continuously from said time until seyen o‘clock P.M. of the same day when said polls shall be closed, except as provided in Section 14436 of the Elections Code of the State of California. SECTION 7. That in all particulars not recited in this resolution, said election shall be held and conducted as provided by law for holding municipal elections in said City. c , - ** -* 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 a * e notice of said election in time, form and manner as required by law. SECTION 9. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book ' of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
