Home My WebLink About1968-02-06; City Council; Resolution 1492.I RESOLUTION NO, 1492 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING AND APPROVING PREVAILING WAGE SCALE, AND DIRECTING CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS, ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO, 3-1964 (JAMES DRIVE, ET AL) WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore instituted proceedings for the acquisition of rights of way and construction of certain sanitary sewer and street improvements in ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO, 3-1964 (JAMES DRIVE, ET AL) under the provisions of the "Municipal Improvement Act of 1913"; and WHEREAS, it is the intention of this Council to call for sealed proposals or bids for the doing of said work; and WHEREAS, it is necessary that this Council determine the prevailing rate of wages for the various classifications of workmen required in the performance of said work, NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That it, the said City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has ascertained and does hereby determine that the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which said work described is to be performed in the matter of the construction of certain sanitary sewer and street improvements, together with appurtenances and appurtenant work in connection therewith in ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO, 3-1964 (JAMES DRIVE, ET AL) in the City of Carlsbad, California, under the provisions of the "Municipal Improvement Act of 1913", being Division 12 of the Streets and Highways Code, in said City, for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract, and also the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work for each craft or type of workman or mechanic, is in accordance with the schedule attached hereto: Any classification omitted herein shall be paid not less than the minimum established by the county of San Diego, . .* '. .. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk is hereby instructed to give a Notice inviting sealed proposals in the manner and form prescribed by law, said Notice to be published in the "CARLSBAD JOURNAL", a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Carlsbad, California? that the date fixed for opening of said bids by this Council shall not be less than fourteen (14) days after the first publication of the Notice Inviting Sealed Bids, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 6th day of Februarv ,1968.
