RESQLUTION NQ, 1571
of Harding Street and Chestnut Avenue in the City of
Carlsbad as a site for a post office through the granting of
a conditional use permit and zone change from R-3 to R-P has
been appealed to the City Council.
All steps required by law have been properly taken and the
City Council does hereby announce its findings and decision
follDwing receipt of a report from the Planning Commission

The City Council of the City of Carlsbad does hereby resolve 1 II
1 3. The action of the Planning Commission in denying said request
for conditional use permit is hereby affirmed and said request
for conditional use permit and zone ange is hereby denied.

purpose of the Carlsbad Zoning Ordinance are as follows:
A. That the moving of the post office from the central
business district will be detrimental to the welfare and
prosperity of the downtown area.
B. That the proposed location will generate undue traffic
