A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, RECOMMENDING CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW HOSPITAL FACILITY AT THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS BASE AT CAMP PENDLETON, CALIFORNIA. 4
5 WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Carlsbad is aware

that many citizen
benefit provisions of the legislation governing service men,
of the City of Carlsbad are entitled, through -'
active and retired, to medica1 treatment at military bases and
government hospital facilities throughout the United States; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the C ty Of is aware
that the persons residing in Carlsbad who are entitled to these
benefits obtain them through the hospital facilities at the Base
hospital at Camp Pendleton; and
WHEREAS, the hospital at Camp Pendleton is considered to be
inadequate due to the age of the buildings and the inadequacies
in the original construction of the buildings; and
WHEREAS, the advance of medical science has resulted in a
need for new and modern facilities to treat those persons entitled
thereto and to adequately house patients, laboratories, and other
medical facilities of the hospital and to replace the aged
buildings which have become very inadequate; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the President of the United States
is respectfully urged to sign such legislation upon its being
Forwarded to him after passage by the Houses of Congress and Senate.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager of the City of
Carlsbad is directed to forward copies of this Resolution to the
California Senators and Congressmen whose Congressional districts
are within the Counties of Orange and San Diego.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, this - 20th day of January, 1970.
