RESOLUTION NO. 1848
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad is facing unprecendented demands
for additional tax revenue to finance the services required by its
citizens; and
WHEREAS, the taxpayers of the City of Carlsbad and particular1
the property taxpayers have been burdened beyond reasonable 1 imi ts;
and
WHEREAS, the President of the United States has proposed a
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD URGING THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES TO SUPPORT THE CONCEPT OF REVENUE SHARING.

WHEREAS, "Revenue-Sharing" is now before the Congress of the
United States,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City of Carlsbad does
petition the Congress of the United States for passage of a general
"Revenue-Sharing'' bill which will provide badly needed additional
revenue and strengthen home rule and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution be sent
to all members of the Senate and House of Representatives elected 231/ from the State of California. i z4 I I

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Carlsbad at a regular meeting held May 4, 1971, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen McComas, Jardine, Castro and Lewis.
