RESOLUTION NO. 1889
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
DISTRICTING PLAN DESIGNATED AS PLAN 7, AND URGING THE CHANGE OF DISTRICT NUMBERS FROM 4 TO 2.
OF CARLSBAD SUPPORTING THE SUPERVISORIAL RE-
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad does hereby resolve
as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad (as long
supported the concept of placing all of the South Bay areas in a
single Supervisorial District, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has care-
fully weighed the several plans proposed by the Board of Supervisor
of San Diego County, and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad that that certain plan designated as Plan 7 would
best achieve an appropriate and rational inclusion of the South
Bay areas within the same Supervisorial District, and
WHEREAS, Plan 7 would establish the boundaries of each Distric
nearly equal in population, as well as encompass cities within each
District whose community interests are similar;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad does hereby urge the Board of Supervisors to adopt
that plan designated as Plan 7 for the redistricting of the Super-
visorial Districts of San Diego County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
Carlsbad be, and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward
certified copies of this resolution to all of the cities in San
Diego County, and that all of said cities are hereby urged to
support the City of Carlsbad in the redistricting program outlined
hereinabove.
