by the estimates of assessed valuation provided by the County
Tax Assessor; and
WHEREAS, said estimates presently are not received, except
in Los Angeles County, until the budget process is virtually
completed; and
WHEREAS, AB 123 INTRODUCED by Assemblyman Wadie Deddeh
would amend Government Code Section 27421, which directs an early
estimate of assessed valuation for counties having four (4) millioi
or more population, to read counties hiiving one (1) million or
more population which would include the Counties of Orange, Alamed2,
Santa Clara and San Diego; and
WHEREAS, such an amendment would require the County Assesso-
of San Diego to furnish the estimate 01' assessed valuation no
later than May 15, for the succeeding year commencing in 1975; and
WHEREAS, such a measure would be of great benefit not only
to the City Staff in the preparation of' the budget and calculations
of revenues, but would clearly rebound to the benefit of the tax-
payers throughout San Diego County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad strongly urges the Legislature to adopt AB 123

RESOLUTION NO. 3114
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA ENDORSING ASSEMBLY BILL 123 WHICH WOULD REQUIRE THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY ASSESSOR IN 1975 TO FURNISH THE ESTIMATE OF ASSESSED VALUATION NO LATER THAN MAY 15 FOR THE SUCCEEDING YEAR.
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad's capability for formulating
a budget and establishing necessary tax rates is greatly affected

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Carlsbad urges all other Cities in the County of San Diego
to support the adoption of AB 123, and hereby directs the City
Clerk of the City of Carlsbad to forwai-d certified copies of
this resolution to the City Councils of all the Cities in San
Diego County, to the Board of Supervisors of San Diego County, a
to all members of the San Diego County Legislative Delegation;

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at the regular meeting of the
Carlsbad City Council, held on the 18th day of April, 1973, by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Dunne, Lewis, Chase and Frazee.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilman McComas.
