A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY C0IINC:IL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA SEECIFYING
THE GENERAL PREVAILING WAGE RATES AS - REQUIRED --- IN PUBLIC - WORKS PROJECTS

WHEREAS, Section 1773 of the Labor Code of the State of
:alifornia requires that the general prevailing rate of per diem
Jages and the yeneral prevailing rates for legal holiday and
wertime work in the locality in which a contract for public work
is to be performed for each craft, classification or type of
vorkman needed to execute the contract shall be specified in the
:!all for bids for the contract and in the bid specifications and
in the contract itself; and
WEIEREAS, Section 1773 has been amended to provide that in
lieu of specifying the prevailing wage rates in such call for bids
the awarding body may refer to copies thereof at its principal
oEfice; and
WHEREAS, the provisions of Section 1773 of the Labor Code
:>f the State of California provide that where the awarding body
chooses to refer to a copy of the prevailing wage rate on file at
lits principal office in lieu of specifying them in each call for
bids, the awarding body shall publish its determination of the
prevailing wage rates in a newspaper of general circulation at
least one time during each year, and, if there is any change in
the prevailing wage rates during the course of any year, the
awarding body shall specify the changes in the first call for bids
made by the awarding body thereaEter; and
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has compiled a schedule of the
prevailing wage rate in this area for each craft, classification
or type of workman needed to execute contracts for public works;
and
NHEIIEAS, a copy of the said schedule, marked Exhibit "A", is
attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference thereto; and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, having
heard the testimony of the City Engineer and having reviewed the
said schedule determining that the rate of per diem wages and the
general prevailing rates for legal holiday and overtime work for
each craft, classification or type of workman needed to execute
contracts for public works set forth in the said schedule is the
prevailing wage rate for each craft, classification or type of
workman needed to execute contracts for public works in this area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad that the schedule of prevailing rate of per
diem wages and the general prevailing rates for legal holiday and
overtime work for each craft, classification or type of workman
needed to execute contracts for public works is that set forth in
Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference
thereto;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, in lieu of specifying the said
prevailing wage rates in each call for bids, the City of Carlsbad
shall reEer to a copy of the said prevailing wage rates on file
with the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, if there is any change in the
said prevailing wage rates during the course of the year, the City
of Carlsbad shall specify such changes in its first call for
bids arid any bid call published thereafter;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any contractor whose bid upon
a contract for public works awarded by the City of Carlsbad is
accepted shall be directed to post a copy of the determination of
the prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing
rates for legal holiday and overtime work made by the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad at each jobsite;
