RESOLUTION NO. 3378
N OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND
GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY
ON TUESDAY, THE 4th DAY OF JUNE, 1974, FOR
THE ELECTION OF A MEAWER OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS
OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RE-
LATING TO GENERAL LAW CITIES AND CONSOLIDAT-
ING SAID ELECTION WITH THE STATEWIDE PRIMARY
ELECTION TO BE HELD ON SAID DATE.
WHEREAS, a vacancy in the office of a member of the City
Council was created by the election of City Councilman Robert C.
Frazee to the office of Mayor of the City of Carlsbad on March 12,
1974; and
WHEREAS, the term of office in which said vacancy was
created ends March 9, 1976;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, does hereby resolve, declare, determine and order as
follows:
1. That pursuant

State, there shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered,
held in the City of Carlsbad, County of San Diego, State of Cali-
fornia, on Tuesday, the 4th day of June, 1974, a special municipal
election of the qualified electors of said City for the purpose
of the election of a member of the City Council of said City for
the unexpired term of office in which the vacancy was created by
the election of Councilman Robert C. Frazee as Mayor of the City
of Carlsbad,which term ends on March 9, 1976.
2. That the special election hereby called for the date
hereinbefore specified shall be and is hereby ordered consoli-
dated with the statewide primary election to be held on said date,
and within said city the precincts, polling places and officers
Df election for the special municipal election hereby called shall
be in the same as those provided for said statewide primary elec-
tion. The Board of Supervisors of San Diego County is hereby re-
quested to order the consolidation of the special municipal elec-
tion hereby called with said statewide primary election, and said
Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized to canvass the returns
of said special municipal election, and said elections shall be
held in all respects as if there were only one election, and only
one form of ballot, namely the ballots used at said primary elec-
tion, shall be used. Said Board of Supervisors shall certify the
results of the canvass of the returns of said special municipal
election to the City Council of said city which shall thereafter
declare the results thereof.
3. That the polls for said election shall be open at
seven o'clock A.M. of the day of said election and shall remain
open continuously from said time until eight o'clock P.M. of the
same day when said polls shall be closed, except as provided in
Section 14436 of the Elections Code of the State of California.
4. That in all particulars not recited in this Resolution,
said election shall be held and conducted as provided by law for
holding municipal elections in said City.
5. That notice of the time and place of holding said
election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized,
instructed and directed to give such further or additional notice
of said election in time, form and manner as required by law.
6. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of
original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of
the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings
of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting
at which the same is passed and adopted.
7. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at an adjourned regular
meeting of the Carlsbad City Council held on the lZth day of
March , 1974, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES : Councilmen Frazee, McComas, Lewis and Chase.
