RESOLUTION NO. 4943
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE CITY'S CLASSIFICATION PLAN TO INCLUDE THE POSITION OF REDEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City of Carlsbad to employ a
person to administer the redevelopment activities of the City:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL\/ED by the City Council of the City
of Carlsbad as follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to
include the position of Redevelopment Coordinator in the City's Class-
ification Plan and the class specification, shown as Exhibit A, attached
hereto and made a part hereof, is approved.
3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to
employ a Redevelopment Coordinator.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad, held on the I5th day of
1976, by the following vote, to wit:

REDEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

Conducts studies and prepares reports, develops plans and programs.
Confers with City departments, architects, developers, lenders, consultants, citizen groups, and other agencies to obtain and develop information affecting redevelopment plans and programs.
Analyses proposals for costs , benefits , conformance with plans and policies, and feasibility.
Presents information and recommendations in both written report form and orally to the City Council, Planning Commission, Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency, and community groups.
Coordinates and directs all City redevelopment activities including: preparation of redevelopment project plans; land acquisition, management, and disposition; residential and business relocation.
Prepares Agency budget and reports.
Prepares grant applications and administers grant programs relating to redevelopment and community development.
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Employment Standards
General knowledge of: the California Community Redevelopment Law; California Planning Law and Practices; Modern Urban Planning and Design Practices; Cal ifornia Zoning Practices; and Real Estate Practices and Finance.

Education and Experience
A Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning, Pub1 ic or Business Administration, Architecture, or Civil Engineering is required. Professional experience in one on the above areas may be substituted on a year for year basis for education.
A minimum of four (4) years professional experience with a redevelopment agency, city or county in planning or community development, two (2) years of which involves experience in developing orassisting the development of a redevelopment program i s required.
