RESOLUTION NO. 51 36
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING AN
INTERIM SALARY PLAN FOR THE CITY FOR THE
1977-1978 FISCAL YEAR.
WHEREAS, the City Council through the City Manager is
engaged in a process of meet and confer negotiations with two
employee groups regarding salaries for the 1977-78 Fiscal
Year; and,
WHEREAS, it is unlikely that the negotiations will be
concluded before the start of said year, and it is desirable
to continue negotiations past that date; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary in order to adopt a preliminary
operating budget to establish an interim salary plan; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council contemplates the adoption of
a salary plan amending the interim plan when the negotiation
process is completed, intending to make any salary increases
which may result from agreement/s reached in negotiations
prior to August 1, 1977, retroactive to July 1, 1977;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City of Carlsbad Classification and Salary
Range Schedules, Fiscal Year 1976-77, for police and fire
employees, certain management employees, and City Council
appointed employees, as adopted by Resolution No's. 3972, 4062
and 3990 as amended, is hereby adopted as the interim salary
plan for Fiscal Year 1977-78.

3. That the city intends to consider changes to that
schedule resulting from the ongoing meet and confer negotiations
and budgetary processes and intends that any resultant salary
increases agreed to prior to August 1, 1977, will be incorporated
in the final salary plan for Fiscal Year 1977-78, and will be
retroactive to and effective as of July 1, 1977.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at am regular meeting
of the Carlsbad City Council held on the 5th day of
July , 1977, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES : Councilmen Frazee, Lewis, Packard, Skotnicki and
NOES : None
Councilwoman Casler
ABSENT : None
