RESOLUTION NO. 5281
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AND CONSENTING TO CONSOLIDATION OF THE
GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON MARCH 7, 1978, WITH THE SAN MARCOS UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT ELECTION.
MHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has called an election to be
held on March 7, 1978; and
WHEREAS, the San Marcos Unified School District, which is
partially located within the boundaries of the City of San Marcos,
proposes to order an election to be held on March 7, 1978, and
the Governing Board of said District has requested the consent of
this Council to the consolidation of the San Marcos Unified School
District election and the election which this Council has or will
order to be held on the same date; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable and in the public interest that said
elections be consolidated, NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED that, pursuant to Article 3 (commencing with
Section 5340), Chapter 3 of Part 4 of the Education Code and
Division 12, Part 2, Chapter 4 (commencing with Section 23300) of
the Elections Code, the approval of consent by this Council is
given to the consolidation of that portion of the San Marcos
Unified School District election on Tuesday, March 7, 1978,
located within the City of San Marcos with the election to be
held in this City on the same date.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the Clerk of this
Council is hereby directed to deliver forthwith three certified
copies of this resolution to the Governing Board of the San
Marcos Unified School District and one certified copy of this

resolution to the Superintendent of Schools of the County of
San Diego and to the Registrar of Voters of the County of San
Di ego.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad, this 3rd day of January 3 1978 3 by
the following vote:
AYES : Councilmen Frazee, Lewis, Packard, Skotnicki and
NOES : None
