RESOLUTION NO. 6243
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE SALARY PLAN FOR MISCELLANEOUS
EMPLOYEES FOR THE 1980-1981 FISCAL YEAR BY ADDING THE CLASSIFICATION OF STORE-
KEEPER.
WHEREAS, the City Council did on July 23, 1979 by
Resolution No. 5854 adopt a Classification and Salary Range
Plan for miscellaneous employees; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5854 has been amended subsequently
by Resolution No; 6108; and
I%W~~AS, it is deemed necessary to incorporate the title
with classification description of STOREKEEPER, Salary Range 20,
to the Classification and Salary Range Plan for miscellaneous
employees;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct;
2. That the classification description and title of
STOREKEEPER, Salary Range 20, is added to the existing Classifi-
cation and Salary Range Plan for miscellaneous employees.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
Carlsbad City Council held on the 15th day of July , 1980,
by the following vote to wit:

DEFINITION
Under general supervision, to perform duties in maintaining records
and monitoring vehicle use; prepare statistical use reports; prepare
and assist in the delivery of supplies, materials, and equipment;
maintain a parts inventory; and to do related work as assigned.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Record daily fuel useage from all city gasoline pumps and for all
gasoline operated equipment.
Prepare monthly gasoline useage statistics for reports to Finance
and Purchasing Departments.
Maintain repair logs for each vehicle as repairs are rendered.
Post a wide assortment of information to records.
Maintain files of records and documents.
Respond to requests for information and assistance cqncerning
equipment, both over the phone and two-way radio.
Assist the mechanics in pushing vehicles or carrying heavy objects.
Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly repair garage.
Wash utility and pick-up trucks.
Obtain parts as requested by mechanics on an as needed basis.
Perform a variety of typing and clerical work.
Operate adding machine, typewriter, and telephone,
Maintain appropriate inventory of tires, air filters, oil filters,
and other commonly used parts.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Basic methods, terminology, and practices of record keeping.
Storekeeping methods and inventory control.
Common motor vehicle supply items and accessories,
STOREKEEPER cont.
Ability to:
Maintain accurate and legible records and prepare useage reports from them.
Perform simple mathematical calculations.
Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Work cooperatively with others.
Perform manual labor.
Work independently without close supervision.
Perform simple clerical functions.
Drive a standard size pick-up truck.
ExDerience and Education
Any combination equivalent to the experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be
qualifying.
Necessary Special Requirement: possession of a valid Class I11 California Driver's License.
