RESOLUTION NO. 6523
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR REMUNERATION AND
SETTING THE AMOUNT FOR CITY OF CARLSBAD PLANNING
COMMISSIONERS.
WHEREAS, it is necessary, in order to effectively carry
out the duties of their office, for members of the Planning
Commission to devote a considerable amount of time in the
performance of this public service; and
WHEREAS, over the years, with the rapid growth of
Carlsbad, it has become necessary for the Planning Commissioners
to expend a steadily increasing amount of time in carrying out
their duties and responsibilities; and

WHEREAS, even though it is impossible to adequately
compensate those individuals who serve as members of the Planning
Commission, the City of Carlsbad knows it is most fortunate to
have such capable and responsible individuals serving the public
in this capacity; and
WHEREAS, since the remuneration paid to the Planning
Commissioners has not been reviewed since 1978, a salary survey
has been conducted encompassing ten other cities in San Diego
County; and
WHEREAS, the results of said survey indicates that
Carlsbad's Planning Commissioners receive the same remuneration
as four other cities, but less than three;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the compensation for Planning Commissioners
be established at $30.00 per meeting, not to exceed $60.00 per
month, effective May 19, 1981.
3. That funds be allocated in the 1981-82 budget to
accommodate this increased compensation.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad, at a regular meeting held on the
