WHEREAS, the completion of this three phase program is a requirement for
selected youths with specific problems who will be identified and referred to

WHEREAS, a joint program was developed with the School District to initiate
Pt-ase I1 of this program and to serve the needs of both agencies by consolidat-

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad

OF CARLSBAD SUPPORTING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE CARLSBAD POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE CARLSBAD UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT REGARDING TEE JUVENILE DIVERSION PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER
OF FUNDS.
as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council recognizes the School District's concern to keep
sxdents in school and the Police Department's concern in preventing juvenile
r2lated crimes against the community and strongly supports the Juvenile Diver-
sion Program and the participation of the School District in this consolidated
injervention to discourage delinquent behavior and divert our youths from the
ap ropriate outside agencies; and
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Unified School District and the Carlsbad Police Q
3. That the City Council authorizes an expenditure in the amount of
