RESOLUTION NO. 7745
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING LIBRARY PARTICIPATION IN TRI-CITY LITERACY COALITION APPLICATION FOR CLSA GRANT TO FUND CONTINUATION OF LITERACY PROGRAM, AND AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS UPON RECEIPT OF AWARD.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California
continues to recognize the need to wage a campaign to combat adult
illiteracy to the maximum degree, and
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad City Library, in conjunction with the
Oceanside Public Library and Vista Branch of the San Diego County
Library, were instrumental in the establishment of the Tri-City
Literacy Coalition, which was funded under a literacy grant made
available under the Library Services and Construction Act (LSCA),
and
WHEREAS, funds to continue the Literacy Program for an
additional nine months are available under an augmentation grant
from the California Library Services Act (CLSA);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad, California as follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the Library is hereby authorized to continue
participation in the Tri-City Literacy Coalition.
3. That staff is hereby authorized and directed to submit
said application, and expend funds upon receipt of award.

of Carlsbad, California at a regular meeting held the 18th day
of Septdxr , 1984, by the following vote, to wit:
