A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN TO CHANGE THE LAND USE DESIGNA-
TIONS FOR TWO AREAS OF THE CITY'S GENERAL PLAN AND TO CHANGE THE MAP AND TEXT TO IMPLEMENT THE REVISED DENISTY RANGES. GPA/LU 85-3 - THE COUNTRY STORE GPA/LU 85-6 - ARONEY GPA/LU 85-11 - THE CITY OF CARLSBAD.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did on October 9, 1985
hold duly noticed public hearings as prescribed by law to
consider amendments to the Land Use Element of the General Plan
GPA/LU 85-3 and GPA/LU 85-11; and
WHEREAS, The Planning Commission did on August 28, 1985
hold duly noticed public hearings as prescribed by law to
consider amendments to the Land Use Element of the General Plan
GPA/LU 85-6; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has determined that
GPA/LU 85-6/ZC-335 and GPA/LU 85-1 1 would not have significant
impacts on the environment and the City Council has determined
that GPA/LU 85-3/ZC-326 could not have significant effects on thc
environment and Negative Declarations were issued and approved ix
satisfaction of the requirements of the City of Carlsbad
Environmental Protection Ordinance of 1980 and the California
Environmental Quality Act; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did on November 19, and
December 10, 1985 hold duly advertised public hearings to
consider said amendments and at that time received the
recommendations, objections, protests and comments of all
interested persons desiring to be heard; and

WHEREAS, the City Council, after considering all
proposed changes to the Land Use Element of the General Plan,
directed the City Attorney to return with appropriate documents
to allow the City Council to vote on the change individually as
part of one single amendment to the Land Use Element of the
General Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad, California as follows:
A. That the above recitations are true and correct.
B. That the findings of the Planning Commission as set
forth in Planning Commission Resolution No. 2476 (GPA/LU 85-6)
and Resolution No. 2506 (GPA/LU 85-11) constitute the findings 01
the City Council.
C. The findings of the Planning Commission in
Resolution No. 2497 for ZPA/LU 85-3 are not approved and the
applicant's appeal is granted.
D. That the Land Use Element of the General Plan is
amended as follows:
1. GPA/LU 85-3 Country Store: To change the Land Use
Element from RLM to Neighborhood Commercial for approximately
3.67 acres of property generally located at the Country Store on
El Camino Real as shown on the map marked Exhibit A - GPA/LU 85-:
attached hereto and made a part hereof.
2. GPA/LU 85-6 Arony: To change the Land Use Element
from Community Commercial to RMH on approximately 4.56 acres of
property generally located on the southwest corner of the La
Costa Avenue and Rancho Santa Fe Intersection as shown on the mag
marked Exhibit A - GPA/LU 85-6 attached hereto and made a part
hereof.
3. GPA/LU 85-11 - CITY OF CARLSBAD: To change the
Land Use Element of the General Plan by revising the land use
map and the text to implement the following revised density
ranges:
TO - FROM
RL 0 to 1.5 0 to 1.5
RLM 0 to 4 0 to 4
RM 4 to 10 4 to 8
RMH 10 to 20 8 to 15
RH 20 to 30 15 to 23
RVH 30 to 40 Delete
Wherever in the Land Use Map or accompanying text these density
ranges appear they shall be revised in accordance with this
resolution. The Planning Director is authorized to make any
changes to the map and text necessary to carry out this action.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on
the 17th day of December I 1985, by the following
vote, to wit:
