RESOLUTION NO. 8910
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING SUPPLEMENTAL ITEMS
TO EXISTING CONTRACTOR, MARATHON CONSTRUCTION
COMPANY FOR THE CARLSBAD BOULEVARD SEAWALL
PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE INCREASE OF
PURCHASE ORDER NO. 2615 THE AMOUNT OF THE
SUPPLEMENTAL AWARD
WHEREAS, the City of Council of the City of Carlsbad
California awarded Contract No. 3185 for the construction of
the Carlsbad Boulevard Seawall Project to the Marathon
Construction Company on October 7, 1986; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California determines it to be in the public interest to award
additional bid items to the contractor at this time; and
WHEREAS, adequate funding presently exists in the
project budget to award said items at this time;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City- Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California does hereby award to Marathon Construction Company
supplemental bid items number A-la in the amount of $136,000
and number A-8b in the amount of $30,000 for the construction
of the Sycamore Avenue beach access stairway and repair of the
Tamarack Avenue stairway respectively.

3. That the Purchasing Officer of the City of Carlsbad
California is hereby authorized to increase Purchase Order No.
2615 in the amount of $166,000 representing the total cost of
these two approved bid item awards.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of
the Carlsbad City Council held on the 16th day of December ,
1986, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Pettine and Mamaux
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
