RESOLUTION NO. 9154
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, URGING THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY BOARD OF SUPER-
VISORS TO STUDY THE USE OF FEDERALLY OWNED LAND FOR A
POSSIBLE SANITARY LANDFILL SITE
WHEREAS, solid waste disposal is a regional problem requiring the cooper-
ation of all public agencies in order to develop an economical and environ-
mentally sensitive solution; and
WHEREAS, the siting of sanitary landfills is becoming an increasingly
difficult task as the region urbanizes and the volume of solid waste increases;
and
WHEREAS, there is a need to consider all publicly owned land as possible
sites for a sanitary landfill.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the Carlsbad City Council urges the San Diego County Board
site of Supervisors to explore the use of federally owned land as a possible
for a North County sanitary landfill.
3. That all North County cities and special districts be encouraged to
urge the Board of Supervisors to explore the use of federal land for siting
a sanitary landfill.
4. That the Mayor be authorized and directed to send letters to all Nortl
County cities and special districts urging the adoption of a resolution encourag
ing the Board of Supervisors to consider the use of federal land for the siting
of a landfill.

day of July 1987 by the following vote, to wit:
