RESOLUTION NO. 90-446
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA APPROVING REVISIONS TO THE BUILDING INSPECTOR AND
CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR CLASSIFICATION SERIES, AMENDING THE
MISCELLANEOUS EMPLOYEE SALARY SCHEDULES AND APPROPRIATING
FUNDS FOR SALARY INCREASES.
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends and the City Council concurs thi
important to provide the highest quality inspection services available in the City of Carlsba
WHEREAS, the current salary rangesfor Building Inspectors and Construction lnsp
have contributed to the City's inability to recruit an adequate number of qualified candid'
fill vacant inspector positions; and
WHEREAS, the current classification descriptions for the Building and Constl
Inspector series require revisions to include a Sub-Journey level Construction Ins
classification and to better reflect supervisory responsibilities required in senior level ins
positions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Cai
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the revised class specifications for the Building Inspector and Constl
Inspector classification series, copies of which are attached (Exhibits 2-7) and made
hereof, are hereby approved.
3. That the revised Miscellaneous Schedule, a copy of which is attached (Ex

4. That current funding for salaries in the Building Inspection Division be inci
