RESOLUTION NO. 93-59
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR FUNDS FOR THE
TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT ACTIVITIES (ISTEA) PROGRAM UN
INTERMODAL SURFACE TRANSPORTATION EFFICIENCY ACT OF 1991
WHEREAS, the United States Congress has enacted the lntermodal
Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991, which is intended to provide over $200 million
dollars over a six year period as matching funds to local, state and federal age1
non-profit entities for transportation enhancement activities; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation has established the procedures a
for reviewing proposals and is required to submit to the California Transportation Cc
a list of recommended projects from which the recipients will be selected; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California has deter1
necessity and desirability to apply for federal funding to complete medians on
Boulevard; Jefferson Street Bike Lanes; and Carrillo Ranch Stabilization; and
WHEREAS, said procedures and criteria established by the California Dep;
Transportation requires a resolution certifying the approval of the application by the
governing body before submission of said application to the California Tran
Commission and the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the application contains assurances that the applicant must compl!
WHEREAS, the City, if selected, will enter into an agreement with the State 01
to carry out the transportation enhancement activities project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
