A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXPRESS THE CITY'S OPPOSITION TO AB
3505 (V. BROWN) THROUGH LETTERS AND OTHER
CONTACTS WITH THE CITY'S STATE
REPRESENTATIVES.
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has adopted a legislative

allocations which would negatively affect local government, including the 9
platform that includes the opposition to measures that would change revenue
10
11 WHEREAS Assembly Bill 3505 (V. Brown) introduced in the 1994 legislative
12
session would change the allocation of sales taxes from a situs basis to a per capita 13
14 basis, thereby taking millions of dollars away from the City of Carlsbad in future
15 years, and
16 WHEREAS Assembly Bill 3505 would seriously effect the City of Carlsbad's
17' ability to provide municipal services to the citizens of Carlsbad in the future by
18

21 to state officials and legislators,
reallocation of sales tax revenues, and
reducing the availability of sales tax revenues, and
WHEREAS the City Council wishes to express its opposition to this legislation
22 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of

Carlsbad, California, as follows:

opposition to AB 3505 (V. Brown) through letters and other contacts with State
representatives and legislators.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council
on the 19th day of April , 1994, by the following vote, to
