RESOLUTION NO. 97-436
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA DISBANDING THE CITIZENS
COMMITTEE TO STUDY GROWTH
WHEREAS, the City Council established the Citizens Committee to ;
Growth in 1986 by Resolution No. 8443; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the committee was to oversee the
implementation of the Growth Management Program; and
WHEREAS, the Citizens Committee to Study Growth has fulfillc
purpose and completed its mission in an exemplary manner that has uphel
highest standards of the Growth Management Program; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Growth Management Prc
is functioning well and meeting its objectives; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that effective monitoring of the G
Management Program is being carried out by the Planning Commission an(
Council in a number of ways including monthly Status Reports from staff, a
Traffic Monitoring Reports, review of new Local Facilities Management I
Financing Plans and amendments to previously approved plans, and C
Management analyses included in the staff reports for individual develol
projects; and LL

for public involvement in the Growth Management Program, particularly throu! 24
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there are sufficient other av
25 public hearing process related to individual development projects; and

WHEREAS, the City Council finds that in view of the recitals stated
there is no longer a need for a standing committee devoted to the C 28

Management Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Cour
the City of Carlsbad, California as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the Citizens Committee to Study Growth is hereby disbanded,
the appreciation of the City Council to all present and former membc
the committee for their time and effort devoted to preserving the qua!
life in the City of Carlsbad.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the
Council of the City of Carlsbad on the 22nd day of April 1997, by
following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Finnila, Nygaard, Kulchin, and
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
