RESOLUTION NO. 2000-28
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION
FOR FEDERAL INTERMODAL SURFACE TRANSPORTATION
RAIL TRAIL AND THE PALOMAR AIRPORT ROAD AND
EFFICIENCY ACT (ISTEA) TEA-21 FUNDING FOR THE COASTAL
1-5 INTERCHANGE.
6 WHEREAS, the San Diego Association of Government (SANDAG) has solicited f

cities projects that meet the criteria for possible lntermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency
(ISTEA) TEA-21 funding; and
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad desires to request funding to support the constructio
the Coastal Rail Trail and the landscaping of the Palomar Airport Road and 1-5 lntercha
based on the criteria established in the TEA-21 program; and

11 WHEREAS, the Public Works Director has previously submitted applications to SANC

14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlst
California, as follows:
15 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council ratifies and authorizes the Public Works Director applica
l7 for Federal lntermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act (ISTEA) TEA-21 funds for
18 Coastal Rail Trail and the landscaping of the Palomar Airport Road and 1-5 Interchange.
