RESOLUTION NO. 2000-78
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE FINAL REPORT
BY THE STREET 23 SIDEWALK POLICY COMMITTEE.
WHEREAS, on November 2, 1999, the City Council appointed a 15-member Citiz
!j 11 Committee to study street and sidewalks in the area west of El Camino Real to the OCE
between Agua Hedionda and Buena Vista Lagoon; and
7 6 I/ II WHEREAS, Council directed the Committee to consider all relevant issues in formula
8 its recommendations to the City Council including, but not limited to, aesthetics, neighborh
compatibility and preferences, safety, liability, environmental impacts, and to consider

lo )I applicable laws, including but not limited to, Americans with Disabilities Act, Clean Water Act
I' 11 the like; and

WHEREAS, the Committee was given until March 7, 2000, to make its report
recommendations to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Committee has fulfilled its obligation by developing street categories
whether or not they should be standard or special character and recommends a proces
petition for installation of improvements; and
WHEREAS, said policy changes are included in the Final Report submitted by
Committee for Council consideration and acceptance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Carlsbac
follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. Staff is directed to evaluate the report and return to Council with recommendatic
for implementation.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City COUI
held on the 7th day of March , 2000 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Hall, Finnila, Nygaard, and Kulchin
NOES: None
