RESOLUTION NO. 2001-193
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALFORNIA ADOPTING A NEGATIVE
DECLARATION FOR A MUNICIPAL CODE AMENDMENT TO
REPEAL AND RE-ENACT TITLE 19 OF THE CARLSBAD
MUNICIPAL CODE TO BRING THE TITLE INTO COMPLIANCE
WITH LEGISLATIVE CHANGES IN THE CALIFORNIA
ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT AS WELL AS TO
REORGANIZE AND CLARIFY EXISTING REGULATIONS.

I The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, does hereby resolve as
follows:
WHEREAS, a Negative Declaration was issued on March 21, 2001 by the
Planning Director; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is satisfied that the amendment to Title 19 is in full
compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. The amendment will not cause any significant environmental impacts,
ensures that the California Quality Act and the State Guidelines will be more effectively
implemented, and therefore, will provide enhanced environmental review of public and private
projects. More effective review of projects helps ensure the protection of the City’s
environmental resources.

PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad on the 26th day Of June , 2001, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Finnila, Nygaard, and
NOES: None.
