RESOLUTION NO. 2001-287
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING AB 1913 FUNDING FOR
2001-2002 YEAR VARIOUS POLICE PROGRAMS
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad held a public hearing on September
l8 8 2001, to accept comments for the appropriation of AB 1913 Citizens Options for Public
Safety (COPS) funding and interest earned to expand the support the 2001-2002 year-round
bicycle patrol program and other police programs; and
WHEREAS, the City Council selected the expansion of the year-round bicycle patrol and
other police programs and funding allocations following the public hearing on September
18 ,200l; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has taken all public testimony and comments into account.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the projects selected at the City Council meeting of September 18 , 2001,
are hereby approved at the indicated funding levels for inclusion in Carlsbad Police Department’s
Citizens Option for Public Safety (COPS) program;
3. That the Police Chief is authorized to execute all appropriate agreements for receipt of
the subject grant funds, as well as any required reports and/or final statements; and
4. That the Finance Director is authorized to appropriate $280,000 plus interest to the
5. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City
,200l by the following vote, to
Council Members Lewis, Kulch and Hall.
