RESOLUTION NO. 2005-173
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR
PAVEMENT REPAIRS ON EL CAMINO REAL.
WHEREAS, on September 14,2004, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad awarded a
contract to Cass Construction for the construction of domestic and recycled water pipelines,
Project No. 344613887-H; and
WHEREAS, the pavement on El Camino Real from Palomar Airport Road to
Cassia Road is in need of repairs; and
WHEREAS, it is in the City’s best interest to have the pavement repairs completed in a
timely manner by Cass Construction; and
WHEREAS, Cass Construction has agreed to perform the pavement repairs as a change
order to the existing contract; and
WHEREAS, Gas Tax funds are available in the amount of $333,281 for completion of the
pavement repairs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. The City Finance Director is hereby authorized to appropriate $333,281 from the
Gas Tax fund for completion of the pavement repairs on El Camino Real.

3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to approve a construction change order
with Cass Construction for the pavement repairs in the amount of $333,281.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
heldon the 7th dayof June , 2005 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Hall, Kulchin, Packard, Sigafoose
NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Member Lewis
