RESOLUTION NO. 2005-254
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE
CALIFORNIA LIBRARY LITERACY SERVICE, APPROPRIATING
THE FUNDS AND ALLOCATING THE ACCRUED INTEREST FROM
PREVIOUS GRANTS TO THE ADULT LEARNING PROGRAM’S
GENERAL FUND ACCOUNT
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad City Library Adult Learning Program provides training to meet the literacy
needs of adults; and
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad City Library Adult Learning Program supports the goals of the City Council
and the objectives of the Library; and
WHEREAS, the California State Library is providing additional support for the Library Adult Learning
Program with grant funds in the amount of $1 0,000.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as
follows :
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That state funds in the amount of $10,000.00 are hereby appropriated to the Library 2005-2006
Literacy Grant Account.
3. That accrued interest from previous grants is hereby appropriated to The Adult Learning
Program’s General Fund Account.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, at a
regular meeting held on the 16th day of AUGUST , 2005, by the following vote, to wit:

NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Member Packard
