RESOLUTION NO. 2005307
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE
CARLSBAD BOULEVARD BRIDGE SEISMIC RETROFIT,
PROJECT NO. 3557-1, AND APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it
necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct a seismic retrofit of the Carlsbad
Boulevard Bridge just south of the intersection with State Street; and
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools,
equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental to the Carlsbad Boulevard
Bridge Retrofit, Project No. 3557-1, have been prepared and are on file in the Public Works-
Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad and are incorporated herein by reference; and
WHEREAS, additional TransNet Local Funds need to be appropriated in order to construct
the retrofit; and
WHEREAS, there are sufficient TransNet Local Funds available for the additional
appropriation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the plans, specifications, and contract documents for the Carlsbad Boulevard
Bridge Retrofit, Project No. 3557-1, on file in the Public Works-Engineering Department of the
Sity of Carlsbad are hereby approved.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to publish,
n accordance with State law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the construction of the
Sarlsbad Boulevard Bridge Retrofit, Project No. 3557-1, in accordance with the plans,
specifications, and contract documents referred to herein.

4. That the Finance Director is hereby authorized to appropriate an additional
$41 9,000 in TransNet Local Funds for Project No. 3557-1.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
held on the 18th day of October ,2005 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Hall, Kulchin, Packard and Sigafoose
