RESOLUTION NO. 2005-322
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING A
CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE TRAFFIC
SIGNAL AT PASEO DEL NORTE AND CAR COUNTRY DRIVE,
PROJECT NO. 3935-1.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it
necessary, desirable and in the public interest to construct the traffic signal at Paseo Del Norte
snd Car Country Drive; and
WHEREAS, three (3) sealed bids were received on September 20, 2005 for the project;
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive, responsible bid for the project was submitted by Lekos and
Electric, Inc., in the amount of $1 54,095; and
WHEREAS, there are sufficient Gas Tax appropriations available to complete construction
)f the traffic signal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
Zalifomia, as follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the low bid submitted by Lekos Electric, Inc., in the amount of $154,095, is
iereby accepted and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City
or the construction of the traffic signal at Paseo Del Norte and Car Country Drive.

That the City Manager is hereby authorized to approve construction change orders

4. That the award of this contract is contingent upon the bidder submitting the lowest
responsive bid executing the required contract and submitting the required bonds and insurance
policies, as described in the contract, within twenty (20) days of adoption of this resolution.
The City Manager may grant reasonable extensions of time.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
held on the 1st day of November , 2005 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Hall, Packard, Sigafoose
